Sometimes we have a long lead time on projects, with plenty of time to ruminate on design possibilities, but other times an urgent solution is required, almost instantly. When the son of Banesco’s founder died tragically trying to save his fiance’s life, it became imperative to create a memorial to celebrate his life. His parents wished to include both interior and exterior elements to honor their son’s legacy.

sky design worked alongside CORE Landscape in the design of a custom water feature at the headquarters entrance courtyard. sky design supplemented the fountain with a memorial message in raised, silver letters that flow along the center curvature of the timeless black walls.

The interior memorial is a massive art installation suspended from the ceiling, centered in the atrium, that draws all eyes upward. The ever-changing color of the iridescent circular and crescent shapes signify a vibrant and rich life, cut short. A tasteful wall plaque further describes the many significant marks Mr. Escotet Alvarez left on the world.
