Technically, all projects we are entrusted with are one-of-a-kind, but every so often, a project comes along that every designer in the studio hopes they’ll get assigned to.

The Delta 747 Museum project was one of those projects.

Housed INSIDE a decommissioned 747-400 aircraft, sky design was tasked with creating informational displays and motion graphics distinctive enough to be featured in such a unique space.

Working within the canvas of a gutted Boeing 747, our design team relished creating a custom timeline of noteworthy 747 milestones and general aviation history. We were able to insert informative ‘call-out’ exhibits throughout the aircraft’s exposed walls, ceilings, and floors facilitating the self-guided tour for “Ship-6301.”

While our scope also included the creation of motion graphics to run continuously during the tour, other features of this singular project include opportunities for visitors to view the interior of the plane from above, walk outside onto a wing, and look down into the fuel tank and cargo bin.
