Designing signature graphics for a space whose end-users include well-known clients like the Atlanta Hawks, Emory University, and athletic-performance start-up P3, might intimidate some firms, but our team loves a challenge! For this shared-use healthcare and training center, our graphic solutions needed to visually weave these recognizable brands together without sacrificing each client’s unique aesthetic. The Hawks and Emory logos were combined to create a new identity on courtside banners and exterior signage. Environmental graphics in colors that include, but aren’t limited to, the Hawk’s signature red help to easily identify hallways and therapy rooms. Each vivid graphic features a pixelated black and white photo of an athlete. This grey-toned pixelation is re-used to creatively identify each floor. Wooden accents first encountered on the exterior signage carry through the space as matching flooring, a demarcated ‘ATL’ wall element behind the backboard, and within P3’s space calling out their logo in two different installations. White vinyl phrases added to the glass encasing each waiting area further the sporting theme throughout the space.
