Inspired by the long history of TVA and their presence throughout the southeast as environmental stewards and providers of electricity, sky design added character and engagement within their newly renovated headquarters in the Gulch neighborhood in Nashville, TN. This included photography-based custom-illustrated wallcovering that visualized the “TVA cities,” curation of multiple displays of historic artifacts, and custom art displays utilizing hard hats and personal photos of employees who could ‘pin’ recent trips outdoors in the TVA region. Additionally, we collaborated with TVA on a custom parametric wood slat sculptural expression as part of an OLED digital display in which the sculpture of the topography creates depth behind digital information, perfectly symbolizing TVA’s technological sophistication within the very real Tennessee Valley.
